Introducing the Julia Haidlen Memorial Ice Skating Rink
Coming November 2025
We’re thrilled to announce the newest tradition coming to Oakdale: the Julia Haidlen Memorial Ice Skating Rink—a heartfelt addition that brings winter magic to downtown. Opening November 2025, this outdoor rink will be nestled in a central downtown parking lot, surrounded by twinkling trees and the warm glow of holiday lights.
Designed with Hallmark-worthy charm and a family-friendly atmosphere, the rink promises a joyful and nostalgic experience for Oakdale residents and visitors alike. Whether you're gliding hand-in-hand, sipping hot cocoa on the sidelines, or watching little ones take their first spin, this unique destination will be a new highlight of the holiday season.
Created in memory of Julia Haidlen and her legacy of community love and connection, the rink will continue her spirit of bringing people together while supporting local causes close to her heart.
“Where hearts unite, the season sparkles—Christmas magic lives in community."
A Small Town Christmas has found our forever home!
If you’ve followed our story the last couple of years, you’ve probably recognized a partnership with Love Oakdale (2023) and the Oakdale Enrichment Society (2024). Both of these non-profits helped to give our project the footing and volunteer support it needed to get off the ground. We thank everyone involved for making A Small Town Christmas what it is today!
Now proudly part of the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce Foundation, A Small Town Christmas is more than just a magical celebration—it’s a meaningful one.
A part of the profits from A Small Town Christmas will go to support local scholarships, helping light the way for Oakdale’s next generation.
